Brief History: Bruce Wayne is a handsome and charming renaissance man, collector of fine arts, CEO of Wayne Enterprises and successful millionaire by day but the vigilante crime fighter all Gotham residents know as the “Batman” by night.

Bruce has had a troubling childhood, raised by the beloved voice of the family butler, Alfred, who was his only parental figure after his father and mother were killed by gangsters in an alleyway after a night at the opera...

Becoming the “Batman” is a reference to not running in the face of fear. After his parents are buried, the young Bruce has a very difficult time leaving their graves which are plotted on the grounds of Wayne Manor. Alfred tried to pull the boy inside since he has been standing there for hours but he refuses to leave. Finally, since it is starting to rain much harder than before and Alfred is concerned that Bruce will become sick, he beings to use force to take him inside. Bruce overpowers the butler and runs off down the grounds in the pouring rain which has softened parts of the earth. Suddenly, Bruce is falling into darkness. Falling, until his small body collides with the hardened floor of a naturally formed cave. Light splashes in from above and Bruce looks upward but soon whatever light that had spilled in from the hole he had made in the earth was covered by screeching and flapping, swarming... he opens his mouth to scream, tears streaming down his cheeks, his eyes wide. He is terrified but he stands, watching as they surrounded him...

Alfred made sure that Bruce continued through school, finished college, received his business doctorate- but that was never Bruce’s true calling. It was never what he was meant to do. Oh, he inherited Wayne Enterprises and expanded it- In fact, it has never been more flourishing, more successful, more unilateral, nor more humanitarian (no other company donates more of it’s revenue than Wayne Enterprises). As soon as he was done with his dissertation, however, Bruce disappeared. He trained in Asia for a few years, mastering the martial arts and when Bruce Wayne returned, resuming his position as CEO, the Batman emerged. The alter-ego Bruce created in order to protect the city in honor of his parents. The city he both loathes and loves but it has become apparent that Gotham can not be taken out of Bruce as much as Bruce can not be taken out of Gotham. They are one and the same.

Over the years he has encountered countless enemies, friends and those who have crossed those boundaries. Arkham Asylum has served as a means of temporarily detaining those who seem hell-bent on destroying him. Bruce has had complications with women, especially those villainous types in his times- such as Selena Kyle, whom he was forced to lock up several times for robbery, arson, attempted murder and the like. He has befriended, adopted and risen Dick Grayson (Robin I) who eventually became Nightwing, Tim Drake (Robin III), who now lives with him at Wayne Manor, Commissioner Gordon and the Commissioner’s daughter Barbara (Barbara became Batgirl) and mistress of magic Zatanna Zatara, his childhood schoolmate.

Yet another unfortunate tragedy befell Bruce when his second adopted child, Jason Todd (Robin II), was murdered by the insane Gotham villain, The Joker. Bruce watched as the young man's life drained from his eyes in his very arms, unable to help him. Since then, he has treated Tim quite differently from Dick, colder, sterner, often spoiling the young man, showering him with anything he asked for but emotionally distancing himself. He's been torn up over Jason, blaming himself for his death. It wasn't until recently that Bruce has discovered Jason has been resurrected by the Lazarus pit and become... the Red Hood...

About six years about after spending some time in Asia Bruce met up with Tahlia Al Ghul and her headstrong father Ra's, who became relentlessly determined to make the detective his heir. Though Bruce has shown constant opposition to Ra's chaotic militarism, he has since become romantically linked with Tahlia. Ms. Al Ghul is not the only questionable femme fatale within Bruce's life. He's also said to have been involved with the likes of Selina "Catwoman" Kyle and Zatanna Zatara. Bruce made his presence known in Metropolis, becoming close friends with news reporters Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

List of Abilities/Powers: Super intellegence and resourcefulness. Martial arts expertise and genius inventor.

List of Weaknesses/Character Flaws: Mortality, human vulnerability, emotion and limitation. Bruce an be cold, cruel, a work-a-holic, stubborn, stern, impassive, inexpressive, incredibly diffiult to read and has a rather annoying habit of keeping people in the dark. He is reluctant to trust, pessimistic and can be rather selfish as he is so used to living/doing things on his own. He is rarely spontaneous.
